Cesario Homes is proud to be a Certified Green Home Builder through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This rigorous, third-party verified certification ensures that Cesario homes are built in compliance with the National Green Building Standard (NGBS), helping to reduce carbon footprints and lower homeowners' costs.
Building green requires a "whole house" approach, where the selection of materials and systems work together to create a home that maximizes indoor comfort and resource efficiency. We break down our green building process as follows:
Energy Efficiency
Cesario Homes is a certified ENERGY STAR Builder, providing homes with exceptional value, comfort, quality, and peace of mind. ENERGY STAR certified homes are designed and built to standards that exceed those of typical new homes, offering energy savings of up to 30 percent. Each home with the ENERGY STAR label undergoes inspections, testing, and verification to meet the strict requirements set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), ensuring better quality, comfort, and durability.
Water Conservation
Water conservation is implemented both indoors and outdoors. We use water-conserving plumbing fixtures throughout the home.
Indoor Comfort
Enhancing indoor comfort begins with constructing a tight building envelope to reduce air infiltration, properly installing insulation, controlling indoor humidity, and installing quality doors and windows. We also use low-VOC products, provide balanced fresh air ventilation, and include high-efficiency air cleaners.
Construction Materials
We prioritize materials that are renewable, recycled, or resource-efficient, as well as those that are more durable, structurally stronger, and require less maintenance.
Site Management
Strategic site management includes utilizing the City’s Tree Preservation Ordinance to position homes on lots in a way that minimizes environmental impact. Trees are preserved to reduce energy consumption for cooling in the summer. We also identify locations for parking and recyclable construction debris on each site.
Inspections and Testing
Every Cesario home undergoes stringent third-party verification and testing for ENERGY STAR and NAHB certifications, along with inspections for Structural Foundation Engineering, Structural Frame Engineering, and any municipal requirements.
